What are bunny lines and how do we treat them?
Bunny lines are small wrinkles that form on the sides of the nose when the facial muscles are activated – especially when smiling or wrinkling the nose. These lines can become deeper over time and can also appear when the muscles are relaxed. Treatment with muscle relaxant specifically relaxes the muscles responsible for these movements, smoothing the skin and reducing wrinkles. The treatment ensures a soft, natural result without restricting facial expressions.
The treatment is generally well tolerated. The injections are carried out with very fine needles so that the pain is minimal – comparable to a slight prick. For sensitive skin, an anaesthetic cream can be applied on request to make the procedure even more comfortable. The entire treatment only takes a few minutes and is therefore particularly gentle.
The first visible effects usually appear within 3 to 7 days. The full effect unfolds after about two weeks, when the muscles have completely relaxed. During this period, the skin on the sides of the nose becomes increasingly smoother and the bunny lines are visibly reduced.
The durability of the results depends on individual factors such as metabolism, muscle activity and dosage. As a rule, the effect lasts between 4 and 6 months. Regular top-up treatments can maintain the results in the long term and delay the appearance of new wrinkles.
